Albion let UKAS accredited certification take the strain
Albion Manufacturing, the 150-year-old Norfolk based engineering company that manufactures specialist cable grips for the offshore renewable energy sector has just satisfactorily completed its annual UKAS accredited ISO 9001 external audit.
Tom Nix the Managing Director comments:
“Our specialist cable grips, are used globally to secure undersea power cables as well as other critical components of national infrastructure and need to be manufactured to a very high standard. Failure could be catastrophic, and it is essential that our internal systems are properly independently audited.
We originally had non-UKAS accredited ISO certification, however several of our clients said that we need to have the more rigorous UKAS accredited ISO 9001 certification if they were to continue to trade with us directly.
We are a relatively small business, do not carry our own specialist quality manager, and we have used 2SB Management Systems for a number of years to provide the specialist support we need to maintain our ISO system to the standard required for UKAS accredited certification.”
Lucy Trimmer of 2SB Management Systems comments:
“I am always impressed with the professionalism of Albion, both working with Tom on the strategic aspects of their business as well as doing the internal audits of their systems. This year posed a different challenge in making sure they were ready for a remote audit, however after scrutinising their systems I was confident that they were well prepared.”
