It's World Accreditation Day 2023!

World Accreditation Day is celebrated each year on 9th June. This year’s theme is “Accreditation: Supporting the Future of Global Trade”. But what does this mean? How does accreditation help global trade?

Many of the organisations we support, whether tech, manufacturing or advanced materials etc. provide products and services to a global client base, and buy from a global supply chain themselves.

Other countries, like the UK, have accreditation bodies (in the UK it is UKAS, in the US it is ANAB, for example). These bodies oversee ISO certification and uphold high standards. For businesses to trade together as part of a supply chain, they need to know their partners have strong, quality, environmental, H&S, information security and other credentials. Knowing that a supply chain partner has been independently audited by a certification body (who is themselves approved by a reputable national accreditation body), allows greater confidence and speed when onboarding a partner. Accreditation therefore oils the wheels of trade, bring confidence in a global supply chain from top to bottom.

2SB is certified in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 by a UKAS accredited certification body. We support businesses in achieving UKAS accredited ISO certification and in maintaining their management systems. We also support businesses with other compliance standards including B Corp, FSC®,  Health and Safety and SSIP certifications.

Although at times certification can feel like another point on a long list it plays a crucial role and if implemented properly can bring big benefits.
